It’s that time of the year when Christmas cards start making their way around the world, finding their way to each of our mailboxes.  It’s a great feeling to receive these holiday greetings in the mail.  It means that you’ve touched someone’s heart, and they’re sending their love to you via a parcel service. 

When you receive something so special, you want to proudly display it.  Like most people though, my fireplace mantle only has so much space.  Without offending anyone by not displaying their card, or even worse, discarding them, here are a few solutions that just might solve this overload of holiday mail.

I originally posted this article in the summer time to inspire anyone who wanted to add a touch of the outdoors to his or her entertaining décor.  With winter well on its way, and the season for celebrating here, I couldn’t resist but to post it again – this time, with a winter twist.

Wreaths are a staple when decorating for the holiday season.  In fact, the history of the wreath dates back to ancient times and various cultures.  Romans used wreaths to symbolize military astuteness, athletic ability, and royalty.  Unlike other cultures however, these wreaths were worn as crowns. 

Other wreaths were, and are still used to provide religious meaning.  The Advent Wreath for example, symbolizes that God is eternal and everlasting, shown in a round circle with no beginning and no end. 

Today outside church, most wreaths are only used for decorative purposes.  Traditionally, wreaths were always round, but if you want something different, a snowflake wreath is a fantastic way to embrace the holiday season.
